When the ink and fountain solution mixed, fountain solution with tiny particles evenly dispersed in the ink, the formation of emulsification. When the ink in the water content of about 20%, it will form the most suitable for printing "stable" emulsification state. If the water content is too high or the fountain solution pH is too low, it will lead to decreased ink dispersibility, reduced mobility, emulsification instability, ink accumulation and other issues. Different types of ink will produce different conditions of emulsification, compared with the general ink, synthetic ink, metal ink, fluorescent ink on the water content and pH more sensitive. Emulsified ink will delay the drying time, while increasing the risk of printing.
Solution:
? Set the ink balance correctly and keep monitoring throughout the production process
? When the ink has been emulsified, clean the ink roller and re-eject the ink in the correct ink ratio
? Check the fountain solution and replace it on time (ideal fountain solution: raw water hardness 8dH ~ 120dH, pH 4.8 ~ 5.5, temperature 10 ℃ ~ 150 ℃)
? If a Heidelberg continuous alcohol system is used, use ink-jet printing or use an ink roll to remove excess water
? Try to avoid frequent pre / post-frying, especially during the day of printing, to avoid excessive accumulation of water
? Adjust the ink roller correctly
? When printing a small ink level, adding extra ink to the layout will help the ink balance.
